This month, we’re digging into the facts. Are you a little confused about the laws, names and labels surrounding gluten free oat products? Have you noticed some products are labelled as ‘gluten free’ while others are not? Have you realised all of the products in the latter category contain oats? Maybe this makes you a little uneasy – don’t worry, you’re not alone. Australia and New Zealand have food labelling laws that differ from most other countries, so we’ve compiled all the facts so you can see exactly what’s going on with the gluten status of oats in Australia (spoiler alert – every batch of our oats test to nil gluten, we just aren’t legally permitted to label our oats as gluten free.
